This will be my last blog until next year! Today, we worked on a
reindeer project and continued with sounds. We also practiced the
"tricky" numbers (10, 11, 12) and had music practice at the high school.
Tomorrow, we will have reading in the morning, watch Polar Express, and
our party in the afternoon around 1:00. I hope to see everyone at the
concert tonight. Have a wonderful and safe holiday and I will blog again
in 2009!

We worked hard on sounding out small words today. You will see a
worksheet come home about this topic. Remember, the word does not need
to be spelled correctly at this point. I would rather have the kids know
how to sound spell the word. They will have many spelling tests over the
next six years to learn the proper spellings! We also made some holiday
decorations, reviewed shapes and numbers in math, and visited the

Have a Great Weekend!
Today we decorated our tree, which will probably be the one thing your
child remembers about the day! We also worked on sounds, shapes, and
wrote letters to Santa with our reader pals. I sent a copy home for you
to enjoy. Have a great weekend!

Terrific Tuesday
Today we sounded out words such as hat, dog, and cat. We practiced our
three-dimensional shapes and explored how they move (roll, slide, stack,
etc). Some of those shapes are a sphere, cube, cylinder, and cone. We
checked out library books and worked in our centers. Have a great day!

Back to work!
Today, we dove right in with sounds and numbers. We also discussed
three-dimensional shapes (prism, cube, cone, and sphere). We will
continue discussing shapes for the next two weeks. We also made some
holiday wreaths and visited the computer lab. If you have your child's
paper tree decorated (this was sent home last week), please send it in
over the next few days. Thanks!
