The children were very excited to start their last week today! We
completed some journaling, testing, and cleaning. We also visited the
gym and library. We will spend time tomorrow doing similar things. On
Wednesday, we will be completing our paper work, cleaning, and
organizing. The children will be attending "Movin' up day" in which they
get to visit with all the first grade teachers. We will also watch our
end of the year DVD and sign each other's Memory Books. I cannot believe
the end of the year is so close. Since this will be my final Blog for
the 2009-2010 school year, I would like to thank all of the families for
such strong support and for sharing your child with me this school year.
This was truly a great group to work with and I will miss them so much
over the summer. Thanks again, and I hope your summers are filled with
the occasional lazy day and lots of good times!

Have a great weekend!
The children finished their sound pages today, which will be placed in
their memory books. We also said goodbye to one student whose last day
was today. Next week, we will finish cleaning, organizing, journaling,

The countdown continues...
We got a lot of testing done today: 34 quick word spelling test,
sounding out words, adding, etc. The kids are doing a fantastic job! We
also did a little cleaning and organizing of materials. This afternoon,
the kids will visit the gym, music room, and computer lab. We will also
close our animal unit and take down the unit posters that we created
over the year. We will discuss our favorite units (fire safety, apples,
fall, the arctic, President's Day, Martin Luther King Jr, etc). A lot of
good times!

Six Days...
The kids worked EXTREMELY hard this morning. We recorded our Reader's
Theatre presentations and wrote our letters Aa-Zz. We also wrote down
100 words, a great accomplishment for a 5/6 year old. This afternoon,
the children will visit the music room, gym, and computer lab. We will
also discuss some different types of forest animals. Have a great day!

Seven Days Left of Kindergarten
The kids practiced their Reader's Theatre groups today. The students
will be rehearsing lines and reading in front of the camera, hopefully
tomorrow. I will be sending home a DVD copy on the last day of school.
We also wrote our numbers to 100 for end of the quarter testing. The
testing items will be sent home in their Memory Books on the last day of
school. This afternoon, we will be visiting the gym, music room, and
computer lab. Have a great day!
